About us:

Shekinah Communities is a family based community for male and females in need of residential rehabilitation services. The Shekinah Community facilities are safe, clean and well maintained. Each member is interviewed before they are accepted into the facility to insure they are serious about their recovery and maintain their sobriety. All the members share chores and attend weekly meetings.  There is a room for confidential interactions, including group meetings and an area for leisure and dining. The facilities are located in North Central Austin and each facility has private and shared rooms where there are two people maximum in each shared room.

There are facility managers at each location that live on-site and addresses concerns that members may have. We provide services to persons recovering from substance use, that are recently out of treatment facilities and those that are transitioning from halfway houses. Shekinah Communities paradigm include diversified interventions and services, that will promote key objectives:

  1. To reduce the consequences, incidence and prevalence of chemical dependency (among individuals served)
  2. To increase the level of successful reintegration of residents into the community.
  3. To integrate a myriad of information pertaining to relapse prevention into the content of the meetings.

When issues are identified that exceed the expertise of the staff, the member will be referred to a qualified provider as appropriate.
